It's been a strange couple of weeks, I had the dreaded virus that everyone else seems to have had, thought I had got over it in time for Christmas but no it all came back to bite me on Tuesday evening. That was it 48 hours of upset stomachs and flu like symptoms.
I should be used to the flu symptoms by now after having them for years, in fact when it first hit I wondered if it was the virus or a relapse, but son had come down with it 48 hours before me.
I thought I was doing really well and was feeling really quite good on Tuesday 23rd, you know what it's like the shivers and shakes finally leave and you feel like you can see light at the end of the tunnel; then bam full blown virus back again.
Christmas Eve I ended up trying to cook as hubby wasn't up to doing the sausage rolls and mince pies those also feel to me. I had other stuff I still needed to do & I felt like death warmed up, all I really wanted to do was to stay in bed, yet stuff still needed to be done or there would be no Christmas dinner, and nowhere to eat one...
Well I just about managed to get it all done & finally got to bed way to late after talking hubby thru how to do the turkey which needed to go in the slow oven over night.
Christmas day felt like everything was so disorganised yet everything got done and in plenty of time. Dinner was great and enjoyed by all.
This was followed by the traditional afternoon nap then pudding before my stomach reminded me I wasn't well.
My mum and step dad left about 7pm and I feel asleep on the sofa by 7:15pm only to wake up some hours later to go to bed...
New Years Eve I spent in as my dancing partners were all ill and none of us made it to the party. I wasn't going to walk both to the pub and home late at night by myself so with no mates I stayed in. Pubs are just not hubbys thing, he can't drink and to smoke has to leave so why go in the first place?
So here we are in the New Year and I am trying to clean my house albeit slowly, but I will get there. The decorations are coming down on Monday...
I hope you all have a fab 2009...
