OK let me explain a bit.
On Saturday night we were at friends for a dinner party, and while we were there we opened a bottle of champagne to toast my birthday as the clock struck in the new day, then we carried on chatting and drinking from the next couple of hours, until I got to the point where I told hubby we needed to go home or I would be sleeping on the our friends sofa all night with no hope of being woken.
So home we went dropping other friends off on the way.
Well by the time I got into bed and was drifting off I looked at the clock to see it was way past 3am and the sun would be getting up soon to welcome in the day.
So when I woke at 9:20am I wasn't really ready to join in the day, but it was so hot and there was no breeze coming in the window so I got up and went into the bathroom as the toilet was beckoning to be sat on (as it does most mornings) and this wonderful cooling breeze came in threw the window.
So I wandered downstairs and found the sofa where I lay with a cooling breeze coming across me and I fell asleep for the next few hours.
When I finally joined the land of those who were wide awake it was past midday and my stomach called for food, so I got up and did myself some banana on toast for brunch as daughter made a cuppa for me & hubby.
It then took me another two hours and me having a go for hubby to turn off the motor sports and get dressed so we could go pick up son from my mum's caravan in Felixstowe where he had been helping her prepare for her birthday BBQ next week.
We got to Felixstowe and went for a walk (or push in my case) round the market, where hubby didn't seem to interested in rushing at all to get to mum's.
I sat there worried my mum would think we were taking the proverbial with her kind nature and that we should get a move on and besides I wanted to go see my son for my birthday cuddle that I had missed that morning.
Well we finally made it there and all was fine.
We stayed a while as hubby sat there watching Superman and me and mum chatted about things. I felt so full still from the dinner party it was unreal, or maybe it was just the fact I had eaten doughnuts and ice cream at the market?
Anyway, we departed there and started to travel home, but there was one last stop off to make, so we did a detour to our friends house to pick up some of the dessert from the dinner party so that they where not left eating summer pudding for the next week by themselves.
When we finally got home the kids opened the muffin I had bought as a birthday cake and put a single lone candle in it, then bought it into me on a plate singing happy birthday to me, that was it; it meant it was officially my birthday, so I sat and eat my cake as I watch Kylie on TV.
I can't believe I'm the same age as Kylie (well I am now), we have both been threw so much in our lives, some of it good & some of it not so good.
There will always be a special place in my heart for her, as I have watched her grow as I have grown, then I saw her suffer in ways I can come close to understanding, but I hope I never understand fully as I hope she never understands fully how I have suffered.
All in all I wasn't really pampered by my family at all yesterday, so I can’t say (hand on heart) that I had a wonderful day, but I did receive some wonderful gifts from some very special friends.
Love you all & thank you so much........
