I had never seen her looking so grown up in her life, she looked just like a princess, and I don't mean a dress up one either.
She had a proper full length A line dress in Red & Gold, with gold jewelry and shoes, plus a red handbag that matched her dress perfectly.
Hubby got so emotional he had to go hide in the garage to stay out of the way while she was getting ready, then my mum came round to transport both me and daughter to her friends where the car was picking all the girls up from.
Hubby got all stroppy and didn't really say much, so while we where waiting for the car he phoned me & asked me to tell her that he loved her and wished her a wonderful time.
I told her just before she got in the car that we both loved her and where so proud of her.
The only problem is that I feel like I have lost my baby, she has all grown up.
At least I still have my son who has a few more years before he has a prom of any sort to go to.
I thought I had handled her leaving school and going to sixth form to do A-levels quite well. I suppose I looked at it more as her changing schools than leaving school, but it is the end of her true formal education, from now on she has to want to learn or it won't work at all.
I suppose come next week I will start to feel old (I don't yet) as my age is bought up to remind me that another year has passed.
I must admit my birthday this year is going to be a low key affair, we are going to friends for a meal the night before, then off to see my mum, to relieve her of the kids (they will always be my kids no matter how old they are), and to go for a walk (or wheel) around the local Sunday market.
Oh well now to go send photos to everyone as promised, if i miss you out the contact me and let me know. Oh and sorry I didn't mean to.
I am looking forward to sleepydust forum coming back on line so I can share the photos on there.
I'll have to find out how to post photos on here (they where done for me before).............
