So do I sleep now and feel a bit better risking not being able to sleep tonight, or do I try to stay awake feeling pants all day, then hopefully sleep better tonight?
I know after my last entry you may be wondering why I should be feeling pants today, well on Monday I saw my Physiotherapist and she did some muscle manipulation for me on my back and neck (as she does usually) only this time I had a great big knot in a muscles on my back, & I mean a huge stubborn one, right around my heart point along my spin.
This knot hurt so much to be manipulated, and the more she did the more it hurt. I wouldn't mind but I didn't even know I had a knot there when I went in, it didn't hurt or anything, but she found it and worked on it for a good five minutes or more.
Talk about pain.
If you have ever had someone push their knuckle into your spin as a kid you would understand this slightly, now imagine lying on a bed with that person putting all their weight into that point and using a red hot poker. Now you’re getting closer.
Now let me tell you the Chinese significance of the heart point.
The heart meridian is responsible for moving the energy around your body, if it gets blocked then the energy doesn't get round properly and if it doesn't get to your brain you can suffer from tiredness, loss of memory, loss of concentration, and a muggy head.
If you find this hard to comprehend just think what an engine is like if it doesn't get a good flow of fuel to it, it is slow and sluggish, and will not run properly at all, but even with a large blockage so long as some fuel gets thru it will run to some degree.
Now the stiff and sore points on my neck and shoulders block the chi from flowing along the heart meridian to my brain, this sore point on my back stopped the energy getting to other parts of my body as well.
So clearing this blockage was a good thing, the bad point was that when I lay down on Monday night it screamed at me and each time it did I got more energy so keeping me awake.
Now more energy I can live with but not at 3am when I have to be up at 7:30am.
So when I woke son at 7:30am I had managed to get about 2.5 hours of sleep and I was still in pain, so I asked him to put an ice pack on my back, which did help.
I had so much energy yesterday I managed to stay awake all day and not sleep, so at 11pm I went to bed hoping to sleep better, as my back didn't hurt as much by now, but it still hurt.
The alarm went off at 4:30am for hubby and I turned over to turn it off and my back screamed at me (here we go again), I couldn't believe it was so bad again & yet I had managed to sleep, but that didn't last for long.
Then I got comfy and sleep found me once more, until the alarm went off again at 7:30am.
I have now had a bath and a short sleep in the bath but it wasn't as long a sleep as I usually have in the bath, and even thou my back still hurts it does feel a bit better as do I.
I think the rest of the day will be taken as it comes, as I can still sense that pants feeling hiding there just round the corner.
Lets hope I get some good sleep tonight, sweet dreams.........
